Where am I?

I hope you are all having a fabulous holiday and that you've had your share of Easter Eggs! My holiday has been pretty busy so far so I thought it would be good to take my kids somewhere different. I will give 10 Class Dojo points to the first person to say where I went yesterday.

Koru Art

Last week we created Koru Art.  We had to create designs on paper using paint and dye.  We then drew koru, cut them out and glued them onto black paper.

Thanks to Trevor and Tamara for creating the Kizoa slideshow.  This was their first attempt at making one.

Writing Mini-Sagas

WALT: To write a mini saga. This week we wrote a mini saga which is a very interesting short piece of writing. We got the idea off Okawa's Blog (from Pukehamoamoa School).  Our Success Criteria were to create suspense, to use language features and to use adventurous vocabulary.

This post was written by Declan and Nicole.

kidsedchatnz - ANZAC

Today Room 2 spent the day learning about ANZAC Day.  We had some questions from kidsedchatnz to answer in preparation for tweeting at 2pm today.  We watched some video clips and viewed images to give us some idea of what life was like for those who went to war.  It was also an interesting opportunity for the students to find out about their own relatives who had been to war.  One of the questions was to find out how ANZAC biscuits originated - it would have been crazy not to make them!

This was our third week participating in kidsedchat.  Quite a few of our Year 6s were away winning a league tournament today but everyone else tweeted today.  It was fantastic to see everyone having a go.

Getting Fit

Now that we have finished with swimming, we are going out for fitness most days.  Most of us can't wait to get out there.  We warm up by jogging four lengths of the courts and then stretch.  Today we ran relays and played line tag.
